I work Monday to Thursday, 10.30 until 9.15 and Fridays 10.30 until 5 PM. Supervision is usually provided during the day.
About me and my therapy practice
I provide Supervision to counsellors, trainees and people in emotionally challenging jobs. Group and peer supervision is also available. Group supervision is on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 3.30 pm for 1.5 hours.
I specialise in helping newly qualified or trainee counsellors and also those setting up in private practice.
The relationship with your supervisor is an important one so I offer an initial Face -2-Face or virtual 30 minute exploratory session free of charge. This gives you an opportunity to ask any questions and get a feel for how I work. I charge £60 for 45 minutes thereafter. Reduced rates are sometimes available for those on low incomes.
I have over 30 years experience in supporting individuals, families and couples in crisis and have been a supervisor for 15 years.
I work face-to-face or via video conferencing.
“Angie has been my supervisor for 3 years. She is insightful and supportive. She has vast experience which she calls on during our sessions. This has been useful in opening up different views and possible ways forward. She is generous in sharing her knowledge and experience of making a private practise more successful. She has been flexible and helpful in finding space for me that fits around my schedule and commitments which I have appreciated greatly. I have found her approach to be supportive and encouraging.” EJ
“I have worked with Angie for over 4 years, for clinical supervision. I have found Angie supportive and encouraging, whilst keeping me up to date with new information, especially around social media and electronic communication. The only reason I have stopped seeing Angie is because I have moved out of the area.” GM
Practice description
I work eclectically with my supervisees using several theoretical bases.
I see my remit as containing them so that they, in turn, can contain their clients.
I specialise in working with trainees or newly qualified, especially those wanting to set up in private practice.
I provide a comprehensive, supportive environment, helping with marketing, GDPR, ethical practice and other elements essential to their work.
Group supervision provided the first Wednesday of the month 3.30 pm until 5 pm.
My first session
I offer a free 30 minute introductory session face to face or virtually, so that potential supervisees can get a feel for how I work. They often use this to bring a case study so that we can work together with the client so that they can get some idea of how it would be to contract with me.

Practice description
“Without the guidance of Angie my husband and I would most certainly be divorced. Through many sessions we have reached a point where we can use the tools we learnt to deal with our marriage in a positive way. We are very thankful to Angie for being open, supportive and non-judgemental. I would say the anyone on the brink of a break up or divorce- call Angie!” KS
“I found her extremely professional, committed and caring. All the qualities that one needs in time when counselling is needed. I am personally grateful to Angie for her support in difficult times. Based on my personal experience of being under her care, I would highly recommend her.” LL
“I sought out some therapy for myself, to make me a better parent, partner and general human. I decided to go with Angie because of her past experience and her confidence to help. Angie is really personable and extremely easy to get along with. She can be quite subtle in her approach which I perhaps found difficult to start with as I wanted to be constantly working hard; which is probably another area to work on for the future! She also has helpful documents and book suggestions, if that's helpful to her patients. I only spent six months with Angie, as I'm about to have a second child, plus I couldn't afford to keep going weekly. I imagine once life settles a little with 2 kids; I'll be back but less frequently.” GH
“I visited Angie for about 18months. When I first went to see her I was not in a very good place in my life. I can honestly say with her great experience and assistance she’s helped me beyond belief. Her character is so warm and not the slightest bit judgemental. I’m now in a great place in my life and cannot recommend Angie enough.” SA
My first session
I offer a FREE, no obligation, 15 minute telephone/video consultation so you can ask questions before making a decision on whether you'd like to have counselling with me. You can book an appointment here: https://calendly.com/angie-herts-counselling
The next step would be to book a 75 minute assessment. This is an opportunity to talk about the issues you're currently facing. We would discuss in the assessment how we could progress and move forward. Thereafter sessions are 50 minutes in duration.
