About me and my therapy practice

My training draws on integrative psychotherapy, trauma-informed practice, cultural psychology, and relational approaches. I have a particular interest in how culture, faith, identity, migration, and lived experience shape mental health and influence helping relationships. This allows me to offer training that not only develops clinical competence, but also strengthens cultural humility, reflective capacity, and emotional attunement in practice.

I offer bespoke training workshops, group facilitation, reflective practice sessions, and CPD-focused learning experiences. Topics may include trauma-informed care, working with shame and identity conflict, culturally sensitive counselling, safeguarding and ethical practice, emotional regulation, and supporting clients with complex presentations.

My facilitation style is engaging, collaborative, and reflective. I encourage curiosity, dialogue, and self-reflection, creating a safe learning environment where participants can explore both theory and their own professional practice. I aim to support practitioners in developing confidence, ethical awareness, and deeper relational skills in their work with clients.

Whether working with small teams or larger groups, my focus is on creating meaningful learning experiences that support both professional development and personal insight, ultimately enhancing the quality of care and support provided to clients and communities.

About me and my therapy practice

Alongside my therapeutic work at Rafiki Therapies, I offer clinical supervision that is integrative in approach, drawing from person-centred, psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and relational frameworks. This allows me to support supervisees in understanding both the emotional depth of client work and the practical application of therapeutic interventions.

My supervision style is reflective and exploratory, focusing on the supervisee’s experience of their clinical work, the therapeutic relationship, ethical considerations, and the impact of clients’ material on the practitioner. I aim to create a safe, non-judgemental space where supervisees can bring uncertainty, challenge, complexity, and vulnerability without fear of criticism.

I have a particular interest in supporting practitioners working with trauma, identity issues, cultural complexity, faith-related concerns, and emotionally demanding presentations. I am mindful of how a practitioner’s own cultural background, beliefs, and lived experience can influence their clinical work, and supervision with me often includes space for reflective awareness of these dynamics.

My approach to supervision is collaborative and relational, balancing support with gentle challenge to encourage professional growth, clinical insight, and increased confidence in practice. I also attend to practitioner wellbeing, recognising the importance of self-care, resilience, and maintaining healthy boundaries in therapeutic work.

I offer supervision to qualified practitioners, trainees, and those working in counselling, psychotherapy, community services, and related helping professions, either online or in person, depending on availability and preference.
