About me and my therapy practice
I am a counsellor, psychotherapist, trainer and facilitator with particular experience in sexuality, gender, identity and intersectionality.
My training supports counsellors, psychotherapists and trainees to think more confidently and critically about difference, identity and power within therapeutic relationships. I am particularly interested in creating spaces where practitioners can explore their own assumptions and responses, develop greater confidence in conversations around sexuality and gender, and consider how wider social and cultural contexts enter the therapy room.
My approach is experiential, reflective and grounded in clinical practice. Rather than presenting diversity and inclusion as a set of rules or correct answers, I encourage participants to develop greater curiosity about themselves, their clients and the relational dynamics that may emerge between them.
Alongside my private practice, I facilitate training within counselling and psychotherapy education, including experiential workshops exploring sexualities, genders and intersectionality. My wider professional background includes extensive therapeutic work with LGBTQ+ clients around identity, relationships, belonging, shame and sexuality.
Practice description
I offer workshops, CPD and facilitated learning for counselling and psychotherapy trainees, qualified practitioners, training organisations and related professional groups.
Current areas of interest include:
• sexuality and sexual identity in therapeutic practice
• gender and gender identity
• LGBTQ+ affirmative and inclusive practice
• intersectionality, identity and belonging
• power, privilege and difference in the therapeutic relationship
• shame, sexuality and relationships
• developing practitioner confidence when working across difference
My workshops combine theory, reflective discussion, experiential exercises and opportunities to consider clinical practice. I aim to create learning environments that are thoughtful and appropriately challenging, while allowing space for uncertainty, curiosity and different perspectives.
Training can be offered online or in person and can be developed around an existing topic or in response to the needs of a particular group or organisation.
My first session
I welcome an initial conversation with organisations or groups interested in commissioning training.
We can discuss the aims of the training, the participants, previous learning or experience within the group, the format and length of the session, and any particular themes or sensitivities that would be useful to consider.
From there I can suggest an appropriate structure and content for the workshop or facilitated session, together with fees and practical arrangements.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced integrative counsellor and Psychosynthesis therapist working with adults in London and online. I work particularly with professionals and LGBTQ+ people, although my practice is open to everyone.
People come to me for many different reasons. You may be struggling with relationships, anxiety, loneliness, identity or self-confidence, feeling overwhelmed by work or life, or noticing that ways of coping, perhaps alcohol, drugs, sex, overworking or other behaviours, are beginning to cause problems. Sometimes there is a clear difficulty you want help with; at other times, you may simply have a sense that something in your life isn't working as you would like it to.
I have particular experience working with LGBTQ+ people and understand some of the ways sexuality, gender, relationships, belonging and shame can intersect with our emotional wellbeing. I also work extensively with professionals around workplace pressures, career and relationship difficulties, stress and questions about how they want to live.
I trained at postgraduate level in Psychosynthesis, an integrative approach to counselling and psychotherapy. This means I don't work to a rigid formula: our work can draw on different therapeutic approaches according to you, what you are experiencing and what emerges between us.
Therapy can offer space to understand recurring patterns, make sense of difficult feelings or behaviours and explore different ways of relating to yourself and others. My role isn't to tell you what to do, but to work alongside you with curiosity and respect, helping you find greater awareness and choice where there may previously have seemed to be none.
Depending on what you need, we can work together for a shorter period or on a longer-term basis.
Practice description
I offer online counselling and psychotherapy via Zoom, as well as face-to-face sessions from my consulting room in London Bridge.
My online practice enables me to work with clients across London and throughout the UK, and can offer greater flexibility around work, travel and other commitments.
For those who prefer to meet in person, my London Bridge practice is centrally located and within easy walking distance of London Bridge tube and train stations.
My practice operates through McWilliams Therapy & Training Ltd.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation before arranging an initial 50-minute session. This gives us an opportunity to talk briefly about what has brought you to therapy, what you are looking for and whether I may be able to help.
The first full session gives us more time to explore what is happening for you and what you might want from therapy. It is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of me and how I work, and to ask any questions you may have.
Finding the right therapist matters, so there is no expectation that you need to decide immediately whether you want to continue. If we do agree to work together, we can discuss whether shorter-term or more open-ended therapy feels most appropriate.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced integrative counsellor and Psychosynthesis therapist working with adults in London and online. I work particularly with professionals and LGBTQ+ people, although my practice is open to everyone.
Many of the people I work with are successful or capable in parts of their lives but find themselves struggling elsewhere; with relationships, anxiety, loneliness, identity, work or a sense that the life they have built doesn't quite feel like the life they want.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent 15 years working in corporate environments. This gives me an understanding of some of the pressures that can come with professional life, including stress, overworking, difficult workplace relationships, questions of confidence or direction, and the tension between achievement and having a life that feels meaningful.
I also have particular experience working with LGBTQ+ people around sexuality, gender, relationships, belonging, shame and identity. This can include difficulties with dating or intimacy, loneliness, coming out, sex, alcohol or drug use, or questions about how you want to live and relate to others.
