About me and my therapy practice
I offer experiential training for counsellors, psychotherapists, and trainees who wish to develop greater somatic awareness, embodied presence, and trauma-informed ways of working. My work supports therapists to integrate body-based awareness into their therapeutic practice in an ethical, grounded, and accessible way.
My training draws on Person-Centred Therapy, trauma-informed practice, somatic awareness, and embodied movement (including therapeutic yoga and mindful movement). I focus particularly on nervous system regulation, working with bodily signals in therapy, practitioner self-care, and developing therapeutic presence.

My first session
My First Session Details
The first session is an opportunity for us to meet, explore what has brought you to seek support or training, and consider whether my way of working feels like a good fit for you.
During this session, we will:
• Talk through your goals, expectations, and any relevant background
• Explore how embodied and somatic approaches might support your therapeutic or professional development needs
• Discuss practical arrangements such as session frequency, confidentiality, boundaries, and ethical practice
• Allow time for questions and reflection
Prior to the first session, you will be asked to complete a short intake form and provide consent to work together. This helps me to understand your needs and ensure that my work is appropriate and safe for you.
The first session is the same length as my standard sessions. There is no obligation to continue beyond this session, and you are welcome to take time to decide whether you would like to proceed with further sessions or join a future group or training.
If appropriate, we may agree a plan for ongoing 1:1 sessions or discuss upcoming group training options.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer a calm, compassionate space where you can be heard without judgement and at your own pace. My approach is rooted in Person-Centred Therapy, meaning I work relationally and gently support you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
My practice is trauma-informed and body-aware. I am sensitive to how past experiences can show up in the body as tension, withdrawal, or disconnection, and I work carefully with what arises in the here and now. Where appropriate and always with your consent, I may integrate grounding techniques, breath awareness, or gentle somatic reflection to support safety, regulation, and reconnection.
Alongside my counselling training, I bring a background as a yoga therapist and body-aware practitioner. I sometimes offer therapeutic movement or mindfulness-based tools to support nervous system regulation, particularly if you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or out of touch with yourself.
Before training as a counsellor, I completed a degree in Youth Work and spent over five years working in equine-assisted therapy and alternative education. I have supported individuals through social services and within settings focused on emotional and behavioural needs. I am also the founder of Liberty Horses CIC, where I developed trauma-informed, relational work that deepened my understanding of safety, boundaries, and non-verbal communication—insights that continue to shape my therapeutic practice.
Clients have described my presence as calm, down-to-earth, and attuned. I work with young people and adults and support a wide range of issues, including anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, grief, identity, relational difficulties, and trauma.
I offer sessions in person and online. Whether you’re coming to therapy for the first time or returning to it, I will meet you where you are—with care, respect, and trust in the process of healing and growth.
Practice description
My counselling practice offers a calm, welcoming space where you can explore what matters to you at your own pace. I work in a relational, person-centred experiential way, placing emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and your lived experience. You are met with empathy, care, and deep respect, without pressure or judgement.
I work with young people an adults and offer sessions both in person in the Bridgend area and online. Sessions are 50 minutes and usually held weekly, though I offer some flexibility depending on your needs. I support a wide range of issues, including anxiety, low self-worth, grief, overwhelm, identity, relational difficulties, life transitions, and trauma.
My approach is trauma-informed and body-aware. I am sensitive to how past experiences can show up in the body as tension, withdrawal, or disconnection. Where helpful and always with your consent, we may gently explore this through grounding practices, mindful noticing, breath awareness, or creating a greater sense of safety and presence. I sometimes integrate elements from my background in yoga therapy to support nervous system regulation and reconnection.
Alongside my counselling training, I bring experience from a degree in Youth Work and over five years working in equine-assisted therapy and alternative education. I have supported individuals through social services and within settings focused on emotional and behavioural needs, and I am the founder of Liberty Horses CIC. This trauma-informed, relational work continues to shape how I practise—particularly in my attention to safety, boundaries, and non-verbal communication.
You don’t need to have all the words or a clear goal to start therapy. What matters is your willingness to show up for yourself. I aim to create a steady, supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and safe enough to be real—however that looks for you.
My first session
Our first full session will last 50 minutes and is charged at my standard rate. In this session, we’ll gently explore what’s bringing you to therapy, what support might look like for you, and whether you’d like to work short-term or longer-term. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—you’re welcome just as you are.
I take a person-centred approach, so I won’t ask you to complete lengthy assessments. Instead, I’ll be listening closely to what feels important to you, and together we’ll shape the focus of our work. If you’re unsure, that’s completely okay—therapy often begins with simply noticing what’s present.
If you’re interested in a more body-aware or integrative approach, such as incorporating grounding, breathwork or mindful movement, we can discuss this together to see what feels appropriate and supportive.
I’ll also explain how confidentiality works, how I manage session times, cancellations, and practical details such as payment and availability.
My aim is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and empowered to begin your therapeutic journey at a pace that feels right for you.
