About me and my therapy practice

I am an Integrative Therapist with over two decades of experience working across the NHS, Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP), colleges and private practice.

When life feels difficult, overwhelming or uncertain, having someone to talk to can be a healthy and supportive step. Counselling offers a safe space to pause, make sense of what you are experiencing and begin to find a way forward.

I was originally trained in Psychodynamic Therapy, which explores how our past experiences can influence our thoughts, feelings, relationships and behaviours in the present. We can explore unconscious processes, patterns and defence mechanisms that may have developed as ways of coping. Through this work, I can help you develop greater self-awareness, understand the roots of your difficulties and work towards a stronger and more confident sense of self.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I also draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centred approaches. This allows me to tailor the way I work to your individual needs, circumstances and goals. I believe that therapy should be collaborative, supportive and adapted to the person rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

I offer a private, confidential and safe space where you can talk openly and honestly without judgement. I understand that taking the first step into counselling can feel daunting, and you do not need to have everything figured out before you begin.

Alongside my therapeutic work, I am also an experienced and qualified counselling tutor, having taught students from Levels 2–5 for over 11 years. This has further developed my knowledge, experience and reflective approach to counselling practice.

Most importantly, I believe that sometimes simply having a safe place to begin talking can be the first step towards understanding yourself differently. I would be pleased to support you at your own pace, helping you explore what is happening for you and what may help you move forward.

Practice description

I offer face-to-face, online and telephone counselling. Sessions are 50 minutes and are usually held weekly, providing a regular and consistent space for you.

Therapy can be either short-term, where we focus on a particular issue or goal, or open-ended, allowing more time for deeper exploration and personal development. We can discuss what feels right for you and review this together as our work progresses.

I offer a safe, private and confidential space where you can talk openly and honestly, without judgement.

I work collaboratively and at your pace.

As an Integrative Therapist, I can adapt my approach to your individual needs.

My aim is to provide a consistent and supportive space where you feel genuinely heard and understood, while helping you develop greater insight, self-awareness and confidence. Whether you are coming to counselling because something feels difficult right now, or because you would like to understand yourself more deeply, we can work together to explore what may help you move forward.
