The BACP should use the generic words 'therapy' and 'therapist' in its communications with the public (including articles in Therapy Today and BACP magazines) rather than the terms 'counselling', 'psychotherapy', 'counsellor', and 'psychotherapist' unless there is a real need to make a distinction. This will better respect all therapist members.
