About the Study
This research aims to gain a deeper understanding of how therapists experience and make sense of religion and psychological well-being in the therapeutic space. It will consider how religious identity may influence clients psychological well-being and health therapist navigate, understand and respond to faith related themes in the clinical work.
Who Can Take Part?
You are eligible if you:
• Are a qualified therapist or counsellor
• Are currently practising in the UK
• Work with adult clients (18+)
• Are trained in any therapeutic modality
What Does Participation Involve?
Participation consists of a one-to-one semi-structured interview conducted online (via Microsoft Teams or Zoom), lasting approximately 45–60 minutes. The interview will explore your experiences of therapeutic work with adult clients in a reflective and open-ended format. With your consent, the interview will be audio-recorded and transcribed for analysis. All data will be anonymised, and any identifying details will be removed to ensure confidentiality. Participation is entirely voluntary, and you are free to withdraw at any stage without providing a reason.
Data Collection and Ethics
This study follows ethical guidelines set by London Metropolitan University. All data will be securely stored and handled in accordance with GDPR regulations. The research is conducted as part of a postgraduate degree and has received appropriate ethical approval.
