Help improve support for individuals with eating disorders during pregnancy and after birth.

Why is this research happening?

We want to improve how eating disorders are recognised and supported during pregnancy and the first year after birth. We want to understand why eating disorders can be difficult to recognise or talk about during this time, what support feels helpful or unhelpful, and how services could support people better.

Who is doing the research?

This study is being conducted by Laura Fussell, Trainee Clinical Psychologist at Bangor University. Email: lrf24vld@bangor.ac.uk

Who can take part?

We are looking for:

  • People with lived experience of an eating disorder during pregnancy and/or the first year after birth (a formal diagnosis is not required).
  • Professionals or researchers working in this area from across the UK.

How can I take part, and what does this involve?

Taking part will involve completing 3 short online surveys over several months. Each survey takes around 30 minutes. Responses are anonymous, and you can stop taking part at any time without giving a reason. Information about available support will be provided.

To take part, email Laura Fussell at lrf24vld@bangor.ac.uk to receive further information, or scan the attached QR code or use the following link below to access the online survey. https://app.onlinesurveys.jisc.ac.uk/s/bangor/1549

Participants will have the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win two £50 Amazon vouchers. Please share this research with anyone who may be interested in taking part. Thank you for helping us improve support for people experiencing eating disorders during the perinatal period.
