Are you a woman who has experienced anxiety during perimenopause and attended talking therapy to help manage your symptoms?
I am currently recruiting participants for a research study as part of my doctoral research in Counselling Psychology.
About the research study
This study aims to explore women’s lived experiences of anxiety during the menopause transition and their experiences of talking therapy during this time. Although anxiety is commonly reported during perimenopause, women’s personal experiences are still underrepresented in research. By sharing your experiences, you will help improve understanding of how anxiety affects women during the menopause transition and how talking therapies may support women’s wellbeing during this stage of life.
The study has received ethical approval from Metanoia Institute.
We are looking to speak with women who:
- Are between 35 and 60 years old Identify as perimenopausal
- Identify as having anxiety or have been diagnosed with anxiety
- Have experience with talking therapy for anxiety symptoms
- Have not had a medical or surgical menopause
What will taking part involve?
Participation involves a one-to-one semi-structured interview lasting approximately one hour, conducted online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Participation is entirely voluntary. With your consent, interviews will be audio-recorded for analysis. All information shared will remain confidential and anonymised throughout the research process.
If you are interested in taking part or would like further information about the study, please contact Michelle Berry, 06169@metanoia.ac.uk.
Thank you for considering taking part in this important research.
