Seeking Mental Health Professionals to Participate in a PhD Project: Exploring the Use and Development of Vignettes in Mental Health Literacy (MHL) Assessment: A Delphi Study
Xiaoxue Kim Cui, a PhD student in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Dundee, under the supervision of Dr Jan Boehnke, is conducting a Delphi study aiming to establish a framework for designing vignettes for mental health literacy (MHL) assessment.
The study brings together three perspectives—mental health professionals, mental health researchers, and people with lived experience of mental disorders—to develop a consensus-based framework for the design and development of vignettes for MHL assessment. The findings will contribute to the evidence base on vignette design and provide guidance for future MHL research, education, and training.
This study has received ethical approval from the University of Dundee Schools of Health Sciences and Dentistry Research Ethics Committee (Reference: UOD-SREC-SHS-2026-016).
Who are we looking for?
Mental health professionals with relevant expertise and experience are warmly invited to participate by reviewing and providing feedback on a preliminary list of considerations developed by the research team for designing realistic mental health scenarios.
What does participation involve?
Participation will involve taking part in two rounds of Delphi survey, with each round taking approximately 15–20 minutes to complete. The survey will be delivered online through Jisc Online Survey platform. Before proceeding to the survey, participants will be provided electronically with the Participant Information Sheet (PIS), Informed Consent Form (ICF), and other study background information. Data will be treated confidentially during collection and analysis. Certificate of Participation Participants’ contributions will be acknowledged after completing the second round. A certificate of participation will be provided on request.
