BACP Chief Executive Hadyn Williams says he is inspired by the determination of a group of teachers and students who aim to establish the first professional counselling association in Cambodia.

Lynne Barnett (Director of the Center for Health Counselling), Plaktin Om and Seyha Toch (teachers) from the University of Puthisastra in Phnom Penh were accompanied by Colin Lago (Former Director of the Counselling Service, University of Sheffield) during a recent visit to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

They met with members of BACP’s senior management team, including Dr Williams.  During their visit they were given an insight into the various elements involved in establishing a professional association.

They have since sent a video to thank BACP for their help:

Dr Williams said: “The video was an unexpected surprise and I was touched to receive it from such fabulous students.  I admire all they are achieving and establishing. I feel quite humbled by their passion, skill and determination.”
