The Professional Standards Authority (PSA) has begun its yearly review of the accreditation of our register.

The review focuses on our processes surrounding our register of members and our work to protect the public.

This includes looking at how we uphold professional standards, our complaints procedures, our financial status and our governance processes.

As part of the review process, we submit a document to the PSA explaining our work and any developments across all these areas to show how we’re meeting the standards for accredited registers.

There’s also an opportunity for members of the public to give feedback about our register and processes, and share their experiences. This can be done through the PSA’s website and the deadline to submit feedback is 19 February 2021

The PSA accredits registers of people working in a variety of health and social care occupations not regulated by law – including counselling and psychotherapy.

Every organisation holding such a register goes through the review process annually.
