About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified BACP counsellor. I can offer you a safe, confidential, non judgemental space to talk through the emotional issues you are experiencing, so you can enhance your self awareness, work through your challenges, heal and grow.
I specialise in working with women experiencing anxiety, low self esteem, relationship issues or emotional abuse. I am extensively trained in narcissistic abuse recovery.
I work in an integrative way combining traditional talking therapy with more directive solution focused approaches to help you find the root cause of your issues rather than just symptom management.
Often the challenges we are facing in the present day are compounded by events from our past, that have subconsciously been re-triggered; making a hard time feel even worse. So there may be elements of looking back to see how your past could be playing out for you in the present.
Understanding how the events you are experiencing are also affecting your beliefs and thoughts are really key, especially what do they mean about you ? Working on those beliefs, challenging them and building more empowering beliefs about yourself can really improve your relationship with yourself and enable you to show up better for yourself in every area of your life.
I run a private practice and work online via zoom so clients can have their sessions from the comfort of their own home.
My private practice days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I work evenings then too.
There is no minimum requirement for the number of sessions you have. You are free to stop anytime that feels right for you. Sessions lasts for 50 minutes. Ideally they will take place weekly at an agreed time, but where possible I will try to be flexible.
My first sessionIt is important that you find the right counsellor for you. Who makes you feel safe and comfortable and understands your needs and what you are going through. I therefore offer a free 20 minute, no obligation initial consultation which you can do either by zoom or on the telephone.
This will give you the opportunity to tell me a little about what has been going on for you and what you would like to get out of coming for counselling. It will also give you a chance to meet me, learn a little about how I work and how I could support you so you can make an informed decision on whether working with me would feel right for you.
When you feel happy to proceed you will be required to sign a counselling contract and fill out a short assessment form. We will then book a time for your first session.
