The majority of my experience is with children and young people, but I have enjoyed working with adults too. I have over thirteen years' experience at a local secondary school, working with students with anxiety, challenging behaviour and much more; as well as experience volunteering, working with adults at Phoenix Counselling Services.
Seeking help for a mental health problem can be a really important step towards getting and staying well, but it can be hard to know how to start and where to turn to. It's common to feel unsure about seeking support for your mental health, but it's always OK for you to ask for help.
My first session
In our first session, I will run through a quick assessment and then if you are happy to continue, I will give you a quick overview of our contract, which you are welcome to take away with you and return the following week and then, if we both feel comfortable, our first session will begin; usually with me gathering a bit of context and history around your situation.
I don't limit the amount of sessions we share, it is up to you to decide this, but usually my clients and I both know when they are ready to move on.
