Bristol BS5
Sessions from £55.00

  • Wheelchair accessible office
  • Concessionary rates

I work Mondays to a Thursdays, and typically my last sessions are 6pm.

At present I ask clients to start either online or by phone, with a view to moving to a blended model of face to face and online work after 2 / 3 sessions. I do this because I feel that given our current situation, knowing that we can work effectively online together is important, in case we need to at some future point.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor and draw on person centred, psychodynamic, gestalt, solution and compassion focused approaches. I work by concentrating on what is important to you, and supporting you to gain a fresh perspective through reflecting on and understanding yourself and your present situation, actions and experiences. We may also explore how your early life and relationships have shaped you and your current behaviours, patterns and sense of self.

Counselling can be short (6 – 12 sessions) time limited or open ended, according to your needs. We will also have regular reviews to ensure that we both agree that counselling is right for you, and that our work together is helping you.

Practice description

I am a warm, friendly and effective counsellor, who welcomes the whole of you to take part in the process of therapy, at a pace that suits you. Alongside the fundamental qualities of empathy, acceptance and authenticity, I'll bring humour and challenge to our work. The relationship we develop will support you to explore and understand difficult issues; increase self awareness; and relate better to self and others.

I work with a full range of presenting issues, which include:

Bereavement/ loss

Depression / low mood

Disordered Eating

Family trauma

Self esteem

Sexual Trauma

Student life / anxiety

strive to meet you exactly where you are in your journey, so that together we can explore, reflect and heal. My aim is to help you work towards a more positive sense of self, increasing self-compassion and forging new, more positive relationships with those around you.

My first session

Our first session is a chance to get to know one another, find out if we are a good fit for counselling and explore the issues that have brought you to me. We’ll briefly talk a bit about your life history. We will also work out what you would like to achieve and I will encourage you to think about how you will know when you’ve got there.

I will also encourage you to take some time after the session and think about whether you feel we connected well. Then if you are ready to begin, we can make a start on weekly sessions.
