About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Jody,
I’m a qualified, BACP registered and experienced Integrative Counsellor. I am approachable, warm and empathic and will offer you a confidential space to validate your feelings and talk about the issues that you want to work through in Counselling.
*Are you finding things difficult at the moment?
*Do you feel stressed, have low mood or feel anxious?
*Is how you are feeling starting to affect your self esteem, work or your relationships?
*Does life feel too much or overwhelming?
I can help you to work through your difficulties and support you with the challenges that you are experiencing. At some point in our lives we will all face some emotional difficulties. This may lead us to feel out of sorts, anxious or wondering which direction our lives are taking.
My face to face work takes place in Ashton on Mersey, Sale, Manchester. I also offer Counselling online via Zoom and over the telephone. This helps to give you more flexibility around your Counselling sessions.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I can tailor the therapy to suit your needs, this means that your sessions are bespoke and personal to you. I work with a range of therapies including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) Transactional Analysis (TA) and Person Centred Therapy.
I will use my training and tools to help support you through the Counselling process. Counselling is a collaborative process and I will be there to hold your hand and support you on your journey. We will work together and I will help to empower you, support you in achieving your goals and guide you to gain a greater understanding of yourself.
Counselling at times can be a challenging journey, but I will offer you a safe, non judgmental space to explore whats going on for you and I will only have your best interests at heart. I want to listen to your story, support and empower you so you can develop a positive relationship with yourself and others.
My first session
I do recommend a FREE 15 minute telephone consultation prior to attending your first session of Counselling. This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions and if my way of working suits your needs right now.
During our first session together we will go through the contract to ensure you understand the agreement and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions.
I will explain boundaries and confidentiality and we will also talk about what has brought you to counselling and what your goals/desired outcomes may be around this issue.
Each session we will build on our therapeutic relationship, I will listen and support you throughout your sessions and I’ll help you to understand on a deeper level why you feel the way you do.
It’s important to remember that you don’t have to talk about anything that you don’t want to, this is your process and you can take your time.
