About me and my therapy practice

The thought of seeking help may seem daunting and overwhelming. You may want someone to walk with you through change, or you may lack hope and feel the need for someone to listen and really understand. Whatever your situation it takes courage to make this first step in seeking support. I also appreciate the need to find the right person to support you on your journey. With this in mind please feel free to contact me with any questions, queries or enquiries.

A bit about me, I am a qualified integrative counsellor with experience working as a 1:1 therapist and as a group counsellor. I work face to face or on-line and have a passion to see the whole person well. I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to work through issues that cause difficulty and pain in life and relationships. The quality of the relationship I have with each client is of paramount importance to me, because without a relationship, therapy simply will not work. Drawing on both my professional and life experience I aim to empower my clients to find their own solutions.

If you would like to ask me anything or get to know me before booking an initial session. I offer a free, 15-minute consultation over the phone and a free initial assessment session.

I am a registered member of the BACP and ACC

Practice description

I offer a nurturing space to explore what is happening in your life, how you feel about yourself and others. I work with many of the difficult emotional struggles we can face, including addiction, anxiety, depression, codependency, bereavement and difficult relationships. Believing each person is a unique individual, I focus on the quality of the relationship between us. Building trust, valuing your beliefs and core values. In addition to private practise I also work in addiction recovery and with those that live with family members who struggle with addiction.

My first session

Our initial meeting is usually the first 15 minute telephone call to answer any questions you may have. It will also be an opportunity for us to assess if we think we could be a good fit. I would then offer a free of charge assessment session to enable us to discuss your reason for seeking therapy, your background and medical history. This session will enable me to better understand who you are and for us to discuss your desired outcomes and the type of support you require. It is really important for you to feel relaxed and comfortable with the therapist you choose. Once we have had our initial session and you decide to commit to therapy sessions with me, we can discuss arrangements going forward.

If you would like to find out more about therapy or to arrange an initial session please do not hesitate to contact me by either phone or email. If I am unavailable by phone then please leave me a message and I will aim to contact you within 24 hours.
