About me and my therapy practice
I offer a supportive and non-judgemental environment in which you can explore whatever is troubling you. I will work with you to identify the issues which are causing you distress and will work with you to resolve them.
Unfortunately, there is no magic pill which will make you feel better - counselling does take time - but I will enable you to use this time effectively and work with you to build coping mechanisms which you can take away from the sessions and use going forwards in your life.
I always start your therapy journey with an initial assessment that lasts up to 50 minutes. The assessment gives us an opportunity to meet with each other and you can then decide whether you feel comfortable employing me as your counsellor. During your assessment I will take an in depth history from you and this will enable me to create a plan of how we will work together. The assessment is without obligation and if you choose not to go ahead then I will support and respect your decision.
I have been working with clients since 2009. During this time I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience and I believe that this has enabled me to grow and develop as a therapist. I undertake regular continuous professional development to ensure that I stay up to date with my approach and skills, as well as learning new skills which enhances the service that I can provide you with.
I hold BACP accreditation, meaning that my work has been subjected to BACP review and has been shown to meet the criteria required - including evidencing how I provide you, my client, a safe space in which to explore whatever is on your mind.
I offer sessions via various video platforms, online messenger and telephone.
Practice description
I offer remote counselling, meaning that you do not need to leave the comfort of your own home. This means less time travelling, no travel costs and being in a space where you feel comfortable and safe. Research has shown that remote therapy is equally effective as in person therapy.
Remote sessions also mean that you can access therapy with myself from various other countries meaning that there is no limitation to where you can be when you have your sessions.
My first session
Your first session with myself will be a thorough history of your life - who you are and what experiences you have had, and how these may be impacting on your current situation.
I will use this time to help identify issues for us to explore in your therapy, as well as finding out your goals for your therapy.
The initial assessment lasts 50 minutes and costs £40.
It is without any obligation - if you feel like I am not the right therapist for you, then you are under no pressure to book any further sessions with me. Likewise, if I feel that my approach does not suit your needs, I will not charge for the assessment and will give you suggestions for which approach I believe may serve your needs better.
