About me and my therapy practice
Perhaps you are experiencing low mood swings on a regular basis? Or heightened anxiety? Maybe you feel isolated and overwhelmed? Or there may be things from your past that are burdening you that you would like to explore in a secure space with a compassionate listener ? Whatever your reasons, I am here to work alongside you.
I hold a BACP accredited Diploma in Gestalt Counselling and a Certificate in Humanistic Counselling.
I am a registered member of the BACP and I adhere to their Code of Ethics and Practice. My work is regularly supervised by BACP registered supervisors. I hold professional insurance and am DBS checked.
As well as seeing clients privately, I work on a voluntary basis as a therapist for a London-based women's health charity.
I also work as a Specialist Mentor for University Students.
In addition to my counselling qualifications, I hold a B.A. Honours Degree in Modern Languages so if you are more comfortable speaking in French or Spanish, I am happy to accommodate this in our sessions.
I also hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and have worked as a teacher for many years in London schools, gaining an in-depth understanding of issues facing teaching staff , young people and their parents and carers. I continue to teach on a part-time basis.
Practice description
It takes courage to come into counselling and you have taken an important first step. I can offer you a safe, warm, non-judgemental and confidential space where you can explore your feelings and any aspects of your life where you may feel stuck. I believe that the counselling relationship is a collaborative one and I look forward to working with you towards your self-awareness and healing.
My first session
The first session can be daunting but it is a good opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to talk about what has brought you to counselling. I charge £30 for the first session . If we feel that we are a good match for future work together, all subsequent sessions are £55.
