About me and my therapy practice

Are you struggling to understand yourself or what you want? Have you lost your way?

Perhaps you need support with a current crisis, or maybe there are old issues that are causing you to stumble on your path. Sometimes we don’t even know what’s wrong, there’s just a deep-seated feeling that who we are, and where we are, is not where we want to be.

Maybe you have friends and family that you are close to, but you don’t want to ‘burden’ them with your troubles.

Or you fear that they won’t understand, or that they might judge you.

With me, you can put aside the persona you have to present to every else. You can share the thoughts, feelings, and fears that are troubling you – without worrying about the impact of your words.

I’ll see you and hear you and walk alongside you in those difficult places. Together we will explore what’s going on. The beauty of talking to me is that it offers you the confidential space – and time- to find your way home to who you are and what you need.

Practice description

I’m warm, kind and direct. I am not a blank screen. You will feel both cared for and challenged when its needed. I won’t sit here and nod, if it needs to be said, I will say it. You’ll begin to understand yourself, to really know yourself in all your glorious complexity.

You’ll need to be brave at times, to face yourself and the truth about yourself and your life. But from that place you’ll be clearer about who you are and where you want to go.

It is likely that we will talk about your childhood experiences as well as what is going on in your life now and your hopes for the future. I can help to explore your potential and purpose whilst attending to and processing your current challenges, pain and struggles.

My first session

Research shows that the quality of the therapeutic relationship (between you and I) is as important as the techniques used. Of course, a deep rapport takes time to build but do trust your instincts when meeting a new potential counsellor. It is important that you find someone whom you feel you could be open with, in time. For this reason, I offer a free initial session for us to get to know each other with no expectation of commitment to further sessions.

We will talk about why you have come and how we might work together. It will be a space for you to ask any questions you may have about me or the therapy process. This session is an opportunity for you to decide if you are comfortable working with me and for me to find out if I am the appropriate therapist for you. If I don’t think I am right for you, I will point you in the direction of someone who is.
