About me and my therapy practice

Hi, thanks for coming to have a look at my page. Here’s a bit about me and how I work. I welcome any questions; please feel free to contact me.

I have spent most of my working life as a professional writer before training as a therapist, and bring a creative approach to my work with clients. Having been through a lot of life changes and had a lot of therapy myself, I believe in doing all I can to help make this available to others. I have particular interest/experience in working with women, emotional/domestic abuse, disenfranchised grief and living loss.

I trained in person-centred therapeutic counselling at Haulm, having previously completed courses at City Lit in London and Varndean College in Brighton. I have also worked at Release Counselling for Women and as a volunteer at Rise.

Practice description

My approach is warm and open, led by you as the client. I believe that you are the expert in your own experience, and I won’t attempt to tell you what to do. I believe that having someone to talk to in a space outside of usual ‘polite’ social conventions – who will really listen and be with you – can be a powerful and potentially life-changing experience.

My first session

I offer an initial 30-minute call free of charge, via telephone or online; this helps us to get a sense of each other and how we might be able to work together.

We will then set a suitable time and I will send you an agreement to complete, outlining how we will work together and what you can expect from me. I welcome any questions about how this will work and am happy to discuss your needs and preferences.
