About me and my therapy practice

I’m an integrative/transpersonal counsellor based in South Woodford and in Liverpool Street. I aim to provide an open, non-judgemental space where individuals can begin to make sense of their inner world and come into a deeper relationship with themselves. This process can support the changes they may be seeking to live a more fulfilling life.

People can sometimes find themselves feeling stuck and held back by limiting patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours, which can be a source of frustration and pain. Bringing a kindly awareness to feelings and thoughts can enable individuals to begin to understand old patterns more fully, supporting them to let go of what no longer serves them. This can free up space for a new way of relating and being in the world to emerge.

My counselling training was in psychosynthesis - this is an integrative approach which draws from a number of different models, including psychodynamic, person-centred and gestalt therapy. My approach is holistic in that it acknowledges the whole person i.e. the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dimensions of experience. As well as exploring the obstacles and difficulties that individuals face, I will also support clients to contact what is emerging for them and what changes are seeking to take place in order for them to live more closely aligned with deeper values and aspirations.

I’m aware that as a culture we tend to spend a lot of time “in our heads”. My experience has taught me that meaningful change requires a deepening relationship and sensitivity towards our feelings, effectively bringing us more into our bodies. I’m influenced by Buddhist practices such as mindfulness, which support clients to come more into relationship with their immediate feelings and sensations.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions about how I work.
