About me and my therapy practiceI am a qualified and BACP Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist, with 20 years experience, providing individual and couple counselling.
Sessions take place in a caring and professional environment, which is sufficiently challenging to effect change. Working together you will gain better understanding of yourself, overcome obstacles in your life, and reach your goals.
I use evidence-based approaches, primarily Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to provide you with the tools to change thoughts and behaviours that maintain your problems; Schema Therapy, to help you change life-long self-defeating patterns; and Compassion Focused Therapy, to enable you to overcome shame based difficulties. Working together collaboratively we can identify your strengths and capacity for resilience.
I specialise in social anxiety, low self-esteem, lack of confidence and compulsive lying.
During the current coronavirus situation I will be conducting all my counselling and psychotherapy sessions via secure video meeting software.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for you to describe your problem(s) to me and for me to give you an idea of how I would be able to help you. At the initial consultation we will make a list of the issues and I will help you formulate goals for what you would like to achieve by the end of the counselling process.
