About me and my therapy practice

I am a BPC accredited psychodynamic counsellor and MBACP psychotherapist who trained at Birkbeck, University of London, and works empathetically with individuals in order to help them explore and work-through their difficulties.

I offer Online therapy to clients both on a long-term and a short-term basis.

Practice description

I am experienced in working with a range of difficulties including: anxiety, depression, low self-worth and complexities around culture and identity. My psychodynamic approach enables me to help clients explore issues arising both from their present life and from their past. Such issues can be rooted in childhood and formative experiences that persist into adulthood, often leaving one feeling isolated, stuck and disassociated. This can also lead to wider difficulties when relating to others in both our personal and professional lives.

The first step in recognising that you need counselling can be hard to process. I work by building a therapeutic relationship based on confidentiality and trust, and by providing a space for you to navigate through difficult emotions so that you can reflect openly upon your difficulties.

An important aspect of how I work is in the building of a therapeutic relationship that is based upon trust, safety and without fear of being judged . I believe that it is through the therapist and client working together to build this alliance that it becomes possible for the client to begin to explore and reflect openly upon their difficulties.

My first session

As part of the process of building our therapeutic relationship, your first two sessions with me will be an initial assessment. This will enable you to begin to speak about your difficulties and to consider how you feel about us working together. Upon us continuing with counselling, a pre-agreed, weekly, fifty-minute appointment will be reserved for you.
