About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor practising in Stroud and Bristol. I am experienced in working with clients who bring a range of material including: anxiety and depression, relationship challenges, family matters, addictions, loss and grief, trauma, childhood struggles, low self-esteem and grappling with a desire for change and direction.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP, Accred) and have undertaken 5 years of training at the Metanoia Institute in London. I have worked in clinical placements in Bristol and Gloucestershire and currently work as an assessor and therapist at the Gloucestershire Counselling Service. I have experience of working in community settings in the mental health and statutory sectors, including the NHS.

My approach is to work with what you bring. As an integrative practitioner, I will apply my skills and theoretical understanding in relational psychoanalysis, alongside contextual, transpersonal and humanistic influences to working alongside you.

Initially, I offer phone and email contact and welcome any questions you have. If we decide to proceed, an initial session will be arranged which will last 1 hour (approx) and is charged at £40. This will give us an opportunity to meet each other and reflect on how counselling can be of help to you. Once we start meeting, we will set aside a regular weekly day and time.

I work in an open-ended way, which means I do not limit the number of sessions offered and we can review the therapy as we go along. I also have experience of working on a shorter-term basis for a fixed number of session (usually between 6-12 sessions).

What I can help with

Addictions, Eating disorders, Obsessions, OCD, Phobias, Self-harm, Abuse, Anxiety, Bereavement, Depression, Loss, Post-traumatic stress, Trauma, Service veterans, Personal development, ADD / ADHD, AIDS/HIV, Asperger syndrome, Cancer, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Disability, Health related issues, Cultural issues, Identity issues, Men's issues, Self esteem, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Women's issues, Adoption issues, Child related issues, Infertility, Pregnancy related issues, Relationships, Sex-related issues, Anger management, Redundancy, Stress, Work related issues
