About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Cath. I came into this work from my own need for help.

I work with those who feel anxious, grief, lost or scared. Perhaps you have experienced something in the past that stays with you today. I also work with those who serve in the blue light services and armed forces. I offer both counselling and EMDR therapy.  (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprogramming)

Blue light services and the armed forces often face traumatic experiences at work. It can be difficult to work when constantly triggered in the field. I offer both counselling and EMDR for a reduced fee for uniformed Key Workers.

Counselling offers you a safe place to talk freely about your feelings so you can understand why you are feeling that way, understanding helps you shift forward towards feeling in control again.

You’re not broken.

EMDR therapy does not need you to talk about any details of what happened, it can stay private to you, and we can still work through it together. On my website, I have a video explaining EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing) so you can see how the process works and the research behind it.

My training was at a domestic violence support service for male and female victims of domestic abuse, past or present. Understanding that violence or life threatening experiences can lead to feeling anxious or PTSD, I trained to help people shift ‘that feeling’. I am someone in your corner to help you find your next step, to being clear and strong again.

If you would like to know how we can work together, I can email you information, your own progress chart, and details how we can work online or face to face in a large room, covid safe.

I'm available for a 30 minute chat over the phone so you can ask me anything you would like to know. I know your on your way to feeling stronger because you are here looking for help,

and that’s a huge step.
