About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified BACP  integrative counsellor, primarily from a person centre-centred perspective. This means working with whatever you choose to bring to the session and in helping to explore your perspective by using ideas from other therapeutic philosophies.

My approach is to integrate a Humanistic Person Centred Relational approach. I use Solution Focused Motivational Interviewing and CBT techniques.

Therapy is about feeling seen and heard. I will offer you a safe place to process your emotions without being judged. I will try to understand  your feelings and story as much as possible and work with you to find happiness and change.

Practice description

My role as a therapist is to help people to explore their problems and work through them on a supportive way. The aim is always to help a client to gain new understandings and help them move forward.

I have worked with many people who have experienced addiction,  bereavement, anxiety and depression. low self esteem, stress and relationship issues. I also work with couples who are struggling with their relationship and would like to talk about ongoing issues and make positive changes.

I have 15 years experience in working with drug and alcohol addictions and welcome people interested in managing their addictive behaviours. During therapy we will explore what is underpinning your addiction.

Counselling is offered on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, depending on what seems most advisable. for planned short - term counselling we can focus on a particular problem, event or stage in life. In longer term therapy we can work together more deeply, exploring ongoing patterns of behaving and the ways you relate to yourself and others.

My first session

My first session is free of charge and last 30 minutes. this gives us time to complete a brief collaborative assessment, so that I can find out what brings you to counselling, and you can ask questions and experience something of the counselling relationship I offer.

Practice description

I have a  (Level 7- PG  Cert in clinical supervision  from  The Manchester institute of Psychotherapy and I supervise both students and qualified counsellors.
