About me and my therapy practiceSearching for a counsellor at a time when you may already be struggling to cope can seem so difficult. However, you've made it here and you are not alone anymore. I'm reaching out to you here.
As we are all getting used to the new rules on social distancing, it's even more important to ensure you are looking after your mind as well as your body.
I've worked successfully with many people over a number of years and can offer you genuine warmth as a person, and compassion for your problems, whatever they might be.
The initial consultation is free of charge, which will give us time to go through what is troubling you, answer your questions, and book up your first session. It's very relaxed and informal.
Currently I am offering support to you through all outlets listed below. My experience includes NHS Primary Care, University Counselling, Employee Assistance and Corporate Support Programmes.
As a Practitioner, I offer a blended, flexible approach incorporating Counselling, Psychotherapy, CBT and Cognitive Coaching. Together we can discover what works best for you, and build a relationship where we can explore your difficulties together and agree a treatment plan. We might decide to try a number of approaches to see what best suits you. This is called Integrative Therapy but simply means you will get the service that works for you and not something rigid or inflexible.
Book daytime or evening appointments - Via Phone Skype, Facetime, email Please note : in Person/house visits (CURRENTLY ON HOLD).
You've made the difficult first step and now, working together, we can focus on discovery and recovery.
Due to the current Public Health situation with COVD19, all communications are on the phone or via other media. Please do not worry about this. Many of my clients already use these options and find it refreshing to talk on the phone to someone who will not judge them and will REALLY listen to what they have to say. You'll find a warm friendly reception and will soon look forward to your session in the comfort of your own space, maybe with a warming drink and no pressure about travel or traffic.
My first session
Before we get started with your first session, you'll already have made contact via this website and given me some details of who you are and what is troubling you. I will then call you and we will have a brief chat so I can hear more about what is going on and explain how I work. We'll then arrange a suitable appointment date. During your first session, I'll be asking you what you want from your therapy, what you'd like to achieve and work on. If you aren't sure though, don't worry, during the first session we'll look at the best ways of achieving progression and to feeling better in a way that is long standing and not temporary. We'll talk about what other support you may have, what help you may have had in the past, and your hopes for the future. Ans then we will begin...
