About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (MBACP). I trained at the Metanoia Institute in London. I am a member of the BACP, UKCP and IARTA. I offer individual and couples counselling.
Practice description
I realise that choosing a counsellor is very personal and you need to consider many things. I hope to create an atmosphere that is non-judgemental, secure, and respectful ensuring that a positive relationship is forged between you, the client, and me.
Couples counselling entails an assessment of one hour, then eight sessions every two-three weeks that are one and half hours. This short term model is popular and successful.
If this sounds of interest to you and you would like an initial conversation, please do contact me.
My first session
In our individual introductory session, I carry out an informal assessment. I give you the opportunity to tell me your story and to discuss what you would like from therapy, as well as to answer any questions you may have for me. If you are happy to proceed, I usually suggest we do 4 -6 sessions where we can explore further why you are seeking counselling. This gives us time to develop our therapeutic relationship. After 6 weeks, we then would decide whether to work for a longer period of time.
