About me and my therapy practice

Hello and thank you for visiting my page.

Taking those first steps isn't always easy but I offer a warm empathetic style, a non-judgemental safe contained space, and the experience of truly being listened to.

Not only can we think about what issues you may be facing but we also look at difficulties rooted in the past that may be affecting how you cope today. By exploring what is troubling you and making sense of your experiences, together we can bring about a deeper level of awareness and self-acceptance, bringing more meaning back into your life.

Due to the uncertainty with COVID, I am currently offering online counselling with the view to begin face-to-face work when safe to do so.

Practice description

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice.

I have several years of experience counselling adults, through private practice and volunteering in the charitable sector. I currently run a busy clinical practice and am a Mentor for young people in a secondary school setting. I have a background working in education and as a School Counsellor.

I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework in order to ensure good practice and hold a full professional indemnity and public liability insurance and have an up to date DBS certificate.

My first session

I can offer a free half-hour telephone conversation to discuss your needs. This and the first 50-minute session allow you the opportunity to know if you feel comfortable enough to continue with weekly sessions.

Once agreed we will meet on the same day, at the same time, and go at a pace that's right for you.

I am happy to answer any questions via phone or email and if you leave a message, I will respond within working hours and once I become available.
