About me and my therapy practice
I offer a safe and confidential space where you can explore your feelings, be listened to and not feel judged.This will be a collaborative process where we will work together to uncover difficulties with whatever issues are making you feel stuck or triggering negative feelings/behaviour. I work at your pace and am empathetic whilst providing reflective comments and interventions to help you gain greater awareness of yourself and your feelings. I hope that the support you receive will help you to make the changes you need for a happier and more fulfilling life.
As an integrative therapist I work with different approaches depending on what you bring. Person centred counselling working with the here and now and Psychodynamic counselling, using the past to inform the present. Where appropriate we will look at past events that may have caused harmful patterns of behaviour towards yourself/others.
I have experience with all different kinds of clients , those experiencing bereavement, relationship issues, depression, anxiety and work related stress are just a few examples. I have personal experience of the benefits of therapy.
In addition I am an experienced Couples Counselling and have experience working with couples of different cultures and backgrounds.
Regular weekly therapy can give you the opportunity to talk to someone when you're feeling confused, stressed, anxious, depressed, lacking confidence or just need some support . It's difficult to reach out and to admit you may need some help but I have found that most people are glad they did.
I am a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor and am registered with the BACP. I offer both long and short term therapy depending on the issue(s) you are bringing to therapy.
I am offering only online counselling at the moment.
My first session
First of all we would have a consultation so I can know what issues you would like to address in therapy and I can tell you something about how I work. You can then decide whether I am the right person for you and if I can offer you the type of therapy you are looking for.
If we continue, then the first session I will ask you some questions to get an idea or some of your personal history. I will then ask you to read a contract which sets out the agreed time and days of the sessions, confidentiality and other areas which we will talk through. If you agree to this we will then both sign it.
