About me and my therapy practice
I offer a safe, supportive space for Individuals & Couples to talk confidentially about issues that are troubling or causing them pain & distress. It’s not always easy to talk openly & honestly about difficult issues, my aim is to offer a warm, trusting & respectful relationship which enables this to happen. Within our counselling relationship we build a framework in which you can begin to feel empowered & in turn helps you to change, grow, heal & regain control of your life & relationships.
I have over 13 yrs experience working with Individuals, Couples, Counselling Students, EAPs & Insurance Providers. Day & evening appointments available on a Long & Short Term basis, including goal orientated, solution focused therapy. Fees: £50 Individuals & Trainee Counsellors; £60.00 Couples. AVIVA & CIGNA registered.
Humanistic Counselling focuses on, & honours your individuality & uniqueness. Past experiences can impact you in the present day, leaving you feeling stuck & powerless. Greater understanding & self-awareness enables you to see your choices & feel better equipped to make changes to move forward.
ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) enables you to identify what matters in your life (your values); it helps you identify what stops you moving ‘towards’ your values (ie any unhelpful thoughts, feelings, actions & behaviours). It helps you create distance (defuse) from your ‘away’ patterns, & helps you gain alternative perspectives. The Mindfulness element helps you stay present & in the moment & not focus on past events or attach to future anxieties. ACT works well for Individuals & Couples who have lost direction, feel stuck & want to move towards living a meaningful & valued life.
Systemic & Psychodynamic Dip. Couple Counselling I work with divorce, separation, affairs, step-family impact, impact of life changes, difficulties with effective communication & couples looking to separate or end their relationship.
