About me and my therapy practice
Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. I’m Michelle and I am a Counsellor and an EMDR Therapist who will work to support you to achieve the best possible outcome for you.
I can support you to make sense of what you are going through? Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed by past events which are causing you to feel stuck in a negative self-critical thought pattern. Or perhaps you are worrying about things in the future and are feeling anxious, panicked, stressed or unable to focus and are lacking motivation? You may have experienced an emotionally difficult or traumatic event and you are now experiencing distressing symptoms of anxiety, panic, overwhelm and/or experiencing flashbacks.
You may be wondering how I can help or you might be feeling nervous about starting the journey towards positive change. I'm here to fully support you, guide you and listen to you. My approach to counselling and EMDR Therapy is to put you at the heart and centre of the process and to accept you without any judgement. I have successfully supported many adults and helped to reduce and alleviate their distressing symptoms, improve focus, motivation, self esteem and confidence enabling positive longer term change which helps them to feel like themselves again.
I work in a face to face setting, online or via telephone and aim to work whichever way feels most comfortable for you. You have already taken the first step towards making positive change by being here, so please feel free to reach out and make contact with me.
The therapy can be either short term brief focused or longer term and after the initial session I usually recommend a commitment to a minimum of at least six sessions to allow the therapy work to develop and have impact. However, the number of sessions is always open-ended and I will be guided by you and your needs.
