About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome. My name is Amanda.
Are you ready to put yourself first and make a positive change to your life?
Maybe you want to get things off your chest, lighten the load, talk about things you’ve never told anyone, stuff you’re unable to talk to loved ones about? Or been through a significant life changing experience?
Do you get the feeling there may be more to life?
I am a fully qualified, accredited and experienced humanistic integrative online therapist. I am EMDR trained and I have (taken) specialist training in working with trauma. A mindfulness coach.
You may be feeling overwhelmed or underwhelmed with life, stuck at a crossroads, not sure where to go or how you got there in the first place? Or you may know how you got here. Life can be a complicated story; it can bring challenges both from the past and the present.
My goal is to support you to move forward in a positive healthy way, to bring relief and help you feel better and be in more control over your life.
Building a strong and supportive safe therapeutic relationship with you is important to me because I believe it’s the heart of the process for change.
I can provide a place where you can feel cared for and offer you the time and space to feel safe to open up without fear of being judged. No matter what you are going through or how you identify, you are welcome to my service and support.
I am committed to working in a relational way, getting to know you so I can understand your story and help you understand your story, your needs, your wants and your aspirations.
By talking through, exploring your thoughts, behaviours and feelings, you can discover blocks, underline issues, and get a better sense of self, as well as discovering strategies, new ways to cope and manage better
Alongside my private practice, I work as a trauma specialist therapist for a charity working with women and girls who have experienced sexual, assault/ violent childhood sexual abuse, childhood abuse and domestic violence.
We all have different lived experiences, stories, identities and personalities which is why I work in an integrative way. This enables me to combine different modalities to best meet your needs. The person centred / humanistic approach is my core base. I believe we all have the potential for growth given the right conditions.
I may integrate creativity, mindfulness, psychodynamic ideas and EMDR. (Eye movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy). EMDR is an NHS recommended evidence-based treatment effective in treating, troubling and disturbing memories in the pass.
I also have a special interest in working with you if you want counselling as a form of self-care or personal development, self-growth for a more fulfilling life.
My first session
This session involves an informal assessment getting to know each other and getting a sense of how we can work together.
I work weekly or biweekly. If my profile speaks to you and want to get started on getting the help you need, you can book in an initial exploratory appointment with me with no obligation to continue if we are not a good fit.
Look forward to hearing from you and getting to know you.
you can contact me via email, call, WhatsApp or text message.
