About me and my therapy practice

"The human body at peace with itself is more precious than the rarest gem." (Tsongkhapa, 14th centuryTibetan Buddhist teacher)

I see counselling as offering the possibility to address experiences of 'un-ease', from the mild to the most severe. I offer a confidential space to explore issues that distress, confuse or hold you back. I aim to understand the whole of you, to see what aspects of life and experience may contribute to your situation. A few of the many issues people bring include anxiety and depression, loss and grief, stress, anger, relationship issues of all kinds as well as the impact that changes can bring, such as loss of confidence.

The counselling I offer gives you the opportunity to work at your own pace, set your own agenda and to be heard without judgment. This means I accept all of you, including the parts you're not proud of, that might cause you shame, pain or fear.

I have a steady personal practice in mindfulness and can offer mindfulness approaches, often welcome by people exploring ways to address anxiety and stress. Expressive materials are also available. These can offer a safe way of exploring difficult subjects, an intuitive way in understanding self and particularly helpful if pre-verbal events play a role.

To keep my practice alive I have a strong path of workshops, meditation, personal therapy and retreats. I also offer Supervision and Consultancy to counsellors and professionals.

About me and my therapy practice

  • Supervision & Consultancy for Counsellors and those in the Helping Professionals
  • My starting point is a deep respect for all supportive relationships and the way you choose to express yourself within them.
  • I aim to open and hold a reflective, restorative space, to bring attention and depth to the relationship and to recognize and enable the potency we share in coming together to emerge.
  • I completed post-grad training as a supervisor in 2008. My counselling experience has been gained within all sectors of education, within mental health, end of life care, eating disorders and via EAPs. The majority of my current work is in private practice.
  • I have energy and commitment to a range of connections in the therapeutic world, the fruits of which I will bring to our work. I feel secure on a path of development personally and professionally. Meditation, retreats, personal therapy and encounter groups all contribute.

  • I practice primarily in Sheffield.
  • I am extending Supervision & Consultancy to include Hebden Bridge.
