During COVID-19 measures all sessions are currently held on line. I use Zoom, which is a secure (end to end encrypted) on-line meeting service. You do not need to download any special software or remember a password. I will send you an email invitation to your appointment with a link. When you are connected to the internet, at the time of your appointment, you just click on the link to join the meeting for your counselling. You require nothing more but an internet connection and access to a web browser.
About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced relationship and psychosexual therapist, registered with Relate, BACP and COSRT. I work with couples and individuals (heterosexual, LGBTQ+) in short and long term therapy from my private practice in Central London, Regent Street and North London, Finchley. Not in London? I offer video counselling/therapy sessions as well. I am also trained as a clinical supervisor with The Grove Practice. Clinical supervision is offered to trainees and experienced counsellors in Relate National, NHS and private practice. I work integratively, which means that I have training in various counselling approaches (systemic narrative, family systems, psychodynamic, object relations, attachment, CBT) and I apply my knowledge and experience to tailor a unique intervention with each client to meet their specific needs. By combining elements drawn from different schools of psychological theory and research, integrative therapy becomes a more flexible and inclusive approach to treatment than more traditional, singular forms of psychotherapy.
Relational and sexual difficulties affect a lot of people and can cause a lot of distress. Every relationship has a challenge, but if you feel that the problem has persisted for too long and it is out of your control despite all of your efforts, do contact me and we can have a conversation about the type of counselling that will suit your needs. I offer an empathetic, safe, and professional environment within which we can work together to facilitate the potential for change in the relationship, and work towards sexual health, happiness and well-being. Relational problems that we can work on are: conflict and re-current arguments, loss of trust, affairs, dealing with the end of the relationship, adapting to change (immigration, buying property, having children). Sexual difficulties: loss of desire, sexual pain, problems with erection/ejaculation, difficulty in reaching orgasm, dissatisfaction with sex, impact of pornography on sexual response in partner sex.
My first session
The first session is an assessment to establish what is the problem, how long you have experienced it, how it impacts your emotional/physical state and your relationships. You can come on your own or with your partner.
I shall answer any questions you have about my qualifications, professional memberships or the process of therapy itself. During initial assessment it will be clearer what type of therapy you will require. If we decide to work together, we shall also discuss your availability, the cost of coming for counselling/therapy, frequency of sessions, your goals and expectations of me as a therapist.
