When reading this list did you 'tick' any that sound like you?

Do you find yourself constantly feeling on edge and anxious?

Feeling anxious is pretty common and is a phrase we hear often, usually, this feeling comes around when faced with stressful situations, difficult decisions, and complicated relationships. Whilst anxiety forms part of survival, and an amount of anxiety is helpful when faced with danger, it can be a problem getting in the way of us trying new things, stepping outside of our comfort zone, and connecting with others. I can help you understand where these feelings come from and develop healthy ways of managing them.

Are you holding yourself back - almost taking action against yourself?

Self-sabotaging behaviours can be a way of numbing emotions. You might find yourself putting things off because of a fear you have of failing or getting it wrong. When we procrastinate it hinders self-esteem and our sense of achievement. It can sometimes mean that without realising we always remain within our comfort zone missing out on opportunities and new experiences. I can support you to start living a fulfilling life where you can set goals, have a vision, and feel content again.

Have you noticed you're always second-guessing yourself, looking for approval from others rather than in yourself?

Self-trust is about trusting your own judgment and feeling comfortable with your abilities and powers: it’s the means to realise your full potential and be the person you want to be. You are likely to lack self- trust If you are worried about how you look to the outside world, what others think of you, or how you are around people, if this is you. I can help.

About me and my therapy practice

My approach places you at the centre of our work together known as person-centred. I want to understand experiences from your point of view. It emphasises our ability to make choices and develop to our maximum potential by looking at people as a whole. This will support you in developing a stronger, healthy sense of self.

I integrate CBT to develop insight into unhelpful thinking habits which can affect the way we think, feel, and behave. If any of these are changed, the others will be altered too. When unhelpful habits and patterns are broken, we can fulfill goals as we take control of our lives

The Psychodynamic approach provides an understanding of how past experiences and relationships influence our present thoughts, choices, feelings, and behaviours. It means we can explore the way the mind influences behaviour. This develops our awareness, reducing levels of distress which enables us to disentangle ourselves from unhelpful aspects of our past.

Practice description

I believe that we can all face challenging times in life and that it is during these times that we might benefit from a little extra support. Life can sometimes feel like a roller-coaster with ups and downs, twists and turns along the way. It is,, for this reason I aim to make my practice as accessible as possible.

Please do get in touch if you would like to have a chat about anything you might need.

My first session

I work in a purpose-built therapy room. I also offer online sessions and telephone sessions. I understand and appreciate the importance of finding the right match for you. I offer a no-obligation 20-minute telephone call to chat about how we could work together and what therapy with me may look like. It gives both of us a chance to get to know each other better. A quick chat over the phone means you can see whether you feel a natural 'click'. Please feel free to email me and I'll aim to get back to you within 24 hours.

In this call if we decide together we are a good match and you'd like to work with me. I will tell you all about the next steps.
