About me and my therapy practice
Counsellor for individuals and couples.
I am a compassionate person-centred and relational counsellor, able to listen and engage with you so you can explore whatever is causing you unhappiness.
I offer a space for you to consider your thoughts and feelings in confidence. You could be trying to manage a crisis or life-changing event. There may be issues from your past you want to explore. You may be experiencing a sense of low self-esteem, or just be feeling sad and wondering why.
My belief is that through the process of being in counselling, you will experience an improved sense of yourself and your interactions with the world outside will also be more meaningful and effective.
I also offer couples work where I can help you to understand what binds you and your partner together, and how that can also push you apart. You will be able to find ways of communicating more effectively and so be more able to understand each others needs.
I can work short or long-term. We can review our sessions at regular intervals to check on progress and desired outcomes.
I am registered and accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have a quiet and comfortable room with good access, situated on the edge of Stroud.

I am online until June '21, when I will be able to see clients in the room again, so I'll then offer both types of sessions.
Zoom is a good alternative to working in the room and has proved to be as effective.
My first session
When you book in your initial session, I send the contract by email so you can read through it and get an idea of the framework in which I work. Here, you can let me know if you have any questions or particular needs before we meet.
The initial session is where we decide if we will be able to work together and where I take some basic information about you and what you want to explore in the counselling. Then you can book further sessions which are usually weekly, and at the same time each week, but can be tailored to meet your requirements.
As your counsellor I would not give advice but offer a space for you to look at anything which is troubling you, and which you cannot share elsewhere. I help you work towards making change in your life and our first session will be the start of that process.
