About me and my therapy practice
Counsellor for individuals and couples.
I am a compassionate person-centred and relational counsellor, able to listen empathically so you can explore whatever is causing you unhappiness.
I offer a space for you to consider your thoughts and feelings in confidence. You could be trying to manage a crisis or life-changing event or there may be issues from your past you want to explore. You may be experiencing low self-esteem, or have a sense of feeling different or isolated.
My belief is that through the process of being in counselling, you will feel more accepting of yourself and more sure of how you want to move forward in your life. Your interactions with the world outside will begin to reflect who you really are so you can reach better outcomes.
I also offer couples work where I can help you to understand what binds you and your partner together, and how that can also push you apart. Old patterns of behaviour that come between you causing problems will become clear and you will gain new understanding of how to work to change them. You can explore ways to communicate more effectively and each get your own needs met.
As your counsellor I would not give advice but offer a space for you to look at anything which is troubling you, and which you cannot share elsewhere.
I am registered and accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have a quiet and comfortable room with good access, situated on the edge of Stroud.
Sessions can be in-person or via Zoom, according to your needs.
I work with adults and couples.
I offer 50 minute sessions for individuals and 60 minutes for couples.
I can work short or long-term. We can review our sessions at regular intervals to check on progress and desired outcomes.
I have a comfortable room with almost-level access in Rodborough, Stroud.
My first session
When you book in your initial session, I send the contract by email so you can read through it and get an idea of the framework in which I work. Here, you can let me know if you have any questions or particular needs before we meet.
The initial session is where we decide if we will be able to work together and where I take some basic information about you and what you want to explore in the counselling. Then you can book further sessions which are usually weekly, and at the same time each week, but can be adjusted to meet your requirements.
