About me and my therapy practice
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist, also offering EMDR. I work with complex and developmental trauma and have a specialist interest in Gender Identity and working with LGBTQ+ clients.
I have several years of experience of working with adults, children and young people. I am Trauma Pathway Lead and Gender Identity Pathway Lead in Child and Adolescent Mental Health ( CAMHS) NHS.
I am also a qualified teacher and have lectured in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy on the Masters and various undergraduate courses at the University of Leicester.
I also offer EMDR ( Eye Movement, Desensitisation and Reprocessing) therapy, which helps people to process a traumatic event in a different way from talking therapy. I do charge a little bit more for EMDR, as I access specialist supervision for this, along side my regular psychodynamic supervision.
My first session
Our first session will give us both an idea of we are able to work together. I believe the therapeutic relationship is vital for clients to feel safe to share what is worrying them, and so we will take the time to ensure our work is safe, containing and helpful.
