About me and my therapy practice

Psychotherapy can be an effective process to explore your inner world, giving you opportunities to change, but it isn’t always easy. Moving away from the familiar and revisiting the past can feel uncomfortable and painful. As a BACP registered psychotherapist and an LGBTQIA+ affirming practitioner, I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where we can explore your internal struggles to understand them better. This process invites you into a deeper relationship with yourself and can influence other aspects of your life.

Our overall wellbeing is made up of a complex array of elements such as family dynamics, our relationship with our body, our hope and fears, our personal identities, and more. This can sometimes make it challenging to identify ‘what is the matter’. I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches to best facilitate your personal journey, considering the multiple aspects of your life such as your culture, spirituality, sexuality, body image, sense of purpose and more.

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute call for us to have a short conversation to help you decide if you would like to take things further. After that, your first session with me is an opportunity for you to share a little more about yourself and to consider how you feel about me and my style of working. This is an important step as your relationship with your therapist is key in the development of your therapeutic journey. This is also a great time for you to bring any concerns or questions, and for us to discuss important topics such as confidentiality and fees.

I am available for both face-to-face and online sessions with adults of any background, creed, race or orientation. In coming to therapy, you may be clear on what issue you would like to work on, or you may want to explore a little more broadly. These are things that we will discuss in our introductory session, but we will also review them regularly throughout our time together so there is always space for you to change your mind.
