About me and my therapy practice
You are unique, as are your thoughts feelings and experiences. As an integrative counsellor I have knowledge in several therapeutic methods and so I am able to adapt how I support each individual.
My wish is to offer you the time and space to be listened to, in a validating and non judgmental way. To support you in a warm, accepting, environment, and gently explore those difficult thoughts and feelings. This process will promote personal growth, healing, and repair, discovering an inner strength and empowering energy you never knew you had.
The first step in counselling is finding a counsellor you trust and feel comfortable with. Many people feel a relief when they are truly heard and understood, and this creates new insights and opens up a new path to move forward. Through counselling, we can create positive changes by exploring your current and past experiences, and identifying unhelpful patterns of thinking, allowing you to change and grow.
How can I help:
- Helping you overcome your present issues and focusing on your goals and desired outcomes.
- Providing time and space for you to be listened to validated and process your feelings and experiences.
- Finding ways to manage your symptoms.
- Developing self awareness, understanding self better and developing self efficacy.
- Improving and understanding relationships, and relationship patterns.
- Exploring ways to look after yourself better, to improve wellbeing and mental health.
There are many more, but my aim is to always be led by you and to move in areas that you want to change and understand more fully.
As an Integrative counsellor, I have knowledge and experience in several therapeutic methods. Each person is unique, and therefore I adapt my work to suit your needs. I will be led by you, empathically listening without judgment, enabling you to visualise your next steps with clarity.
I have experience with adults, children and young people and offer face to face or remote sessions by Zoom or telephone. I have worked with a range of problems, including, low self-esteem, anxiety, panic, low mood and depression, relationship, and family problems as well as grief, bereavement, abuse, post-natal depression, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. This list is not exhaustive and very often the presenting issue will unearth other hidden areas of disharmony.
I offer both short- and long-term therapy, in person or online, with some evening and weekend availability.
My first session
I understand that not everyone knows what they want from therapy or how to choose a therapist to suit their needs. For this reason I offer a free 15 minute consultation during which we will have a conversation so that you can see how it feels to talk with me and from there you can make an informed decision as to whether you would like to begin working together.
I provide 50 minute in person sessions, based in a comfortable and private counselling room in Sutton Coldfield, located close to the High Street. (there are stairs and no lift at this office unfortunately)
I also provide sessions Online (Zoom) and Telephone, for those who have difficulty accessing my room, or prefer online to in person.
I offer Walk and Talk therapy in Sutton Park: Counselling in the open-air can be a helpful method of working, some clients are more relaxed walking and talking and feel more comfortable in discussing their problems outdoors.
