About me and my therapy practice

As an integrative therapist, I embrace the inherent value of you as a person. My practice therefore response to you as a holistic being on an affective, behavioral, physiological and spiritual level. These interconnected parts are explored in the context of intrapersonal, interpersonal, social and cultural aspects of the self.

Theoretically, integrative psychotherapy takes in to account a spectrum of human development, I will therefore use an approach that is relevant to your needs on your journey to self-discovery. My approach includes psychodynamic, person-centered, cognitive, narrative, cultural and systemic modalities.

Central to my approach is the individual within the context of their own culture, I am therefore able to work with a diverse range of individual beliefs systems. I work in a sensitive way to help you navigate your own lived experience to achieve personal therapeutic goals.

I am committed to working in an ethical and non-judgemental way that incorporates key principles of the British Association of Counselling Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework, which fundamentally emphasizes non-discriminatory practice, and respect for your autonomy.

What I Can Offer?

I provide a safe therapeutic space for teens and adults by telephone, online and face to face.

A sense of wholeness will be facilitated through a deeper understanding of personal strengths and limitations.

The time you give to acquiring new insights into your own self will help you better understand and accept who you are as a person- leading to greater self-worth.

How it works:

Phase One

We start with a free twenty-minute phone conversation of introduction: you say who you are and what you are looking for and I tell you a about myself and what I offer. We both get a feel of how we might work together and to see if you feel comfortable talking to me and for me to establish whether I can support you within the boundaries of my skill set.

In this introductory session we also discuss availability, and commencement date and or more time to thing about things before making a commitment. 

Phase two

Together we will determine your expectations for therapy, look at your presenting concerns and set some goals either time specific or open-ended.

Final Phase

We'll dig deeper into your concerns and uncover reasons for your current ways of being that prevents you from living your best life- leading to an integration of new understanding of the self.

During our sessions, you will be able to share concerns knowing your privacy and confidentiality is respected in the framework of an ethical practice.

My first session

The first appointment follows on from the fifteen-minute introduction session and gives us the opportunity to further explore your expectations for therapy. 

The first session will also include an assessment where I will ask you a series of pre- prepared questions , which will help to identify levels of any anxiety and depression. This is not a diagnostic process but rather a self-screening that indicates the type of support during the therapy sessions required.
