About me and my therapy practice
I love counselling, and enjoy working with clients where I will give space to develop our therapeutic relationship so you feel able to share whatever is on your mind. As an older therapist, I have personal experience of many life issues, including, grief, loss, despair, relationship struggles, anxiety, fear, loss of direction, childbirth, raising a family, insecurity in a variety of forms, ageing, menopause, and more. I believe in the power of sharing your thoughts and fears, joys and uncertainties. I will support you and walk with you, meeting you wherever you are in lifePractice description
Here at Belinda Jayne Scott Counselling, we believe that counselling should be available to any adult. Good mental health is essential for a healthy & fulfilling life – this is why we prioritise being affordable, accessible & available.
We offer 50-minute counselling sessions for just £30 for adults, face-to-face or online. We also offer this to students for £25.
With the cost of living crisis, we aim to keep counselling as low-cost as possible. In a time where it is more needed than ever – with the pandemic still negatively affecting lives, and the economy worsening – counselling has never been more necessary.
Our current business model allows us to offer lower-than-average fees whilst still providing the highest quality of counselling possible.
Sometimes we feel as though we are at a crossroads in our life, & are unsure which way to turn. It might feel like your problem isn't 'bad enough' to seek counselling, especially when compared with the challenges other people are going through.
Counselling might be just the support you are looking for, even if it appears that what you're going through is 'just ordinary, everyday stuff'.
I adopt a Person-Centred approach, meaning the client is at the centre of each session. I believe that each person has the solution to their challenges within themselves, and I support you in this process of discovery.
I offer a comfortable space, where you can talk to me about your concerns. There are times when we need a little support, & counselling can help with challenges such as anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, stress, relationship difficulties, life transitions such as children leaving home, divorce, identity, body image concerns, lack of self-confidence, low self-esteem, loss, & more. Together, we can work out how best to move forward through your issues, so you can live the best life possible
I integrate techniques from other schools of thought including mindfulness, breath awareness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
