About me and my therapy practice
My name is Emma Mason and I am trained in Person Centered Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Counselling and Transactional Analysis. I use all three of these theories to tailor the counselling experience to you the best I can. This is called Integrative Counselling as it brings together different theories and links them to make them work better. I believe that the base for great therapy is the relationship between the client and the counsellor and because of this; I strive to build trust and connection with my clients while remaining open and non-judgmental.
Counselling can be for anyone for any issue. No matter how big or small, if it is bothering you, you can bring it to the counselling room. Life can be challenging at times and sometimes you may feel like you can't talk to anyone about it, I would recommend getting in touch with a counsellor to explore the issue, your thoughts and feelings about the issue or whatever you feel like bringing to the counselling session that day.
If you choose to contact me, we can arrange a 10 minute phone consultation where I can get a feel for why you would like counselling at this time and to just check that I feel able to help you with whatever it is you would like to bring to sessions. If all goes well we can arrange our first session at the reduced rate of £20, where we can get to know each other a little better and you can decide if counselling is for you. If you choose to work with me we will then go onto exploring the issue you would like to. Sometimes other issues come up and it is 100% okay to explore these too or bypass them if you like. The sessions are yours, I am here to support you, explore with you, prompt and question you a little to get you thinking about things and sometimes setting goals with you. My aim is to empower you and give you the tools to be able to cope with life’s ups and downs.
