Features

About me and my therapy practice

I am a friendly and experienced counsellor normally offering 1-1 sessions on Fridays at Napiers Clinic in Edinburgh city centre and online via FaceTime/Skype.

Counselling is a supportive process that encourages each person to express themselves in their own way and at their own pace. It highly values the unique perspective we each have on life and our own particular situation. Counselling offers us the opportunity to gain insight and understanding and with the right support allows people to find their voice and their own way forward. As your counsellor I will offer understanding, acceptance and honest, genuine responses wherever you are at.

My main approach to therapeutic work is person centred. I'm also influenced by creative therapies and psychodynamic theory and practice. Research has shown that one of the most important things is having a good working relationship between counsellor and client. I approach each person with an open mind and a desire to work together collaboratively. I aim to create a warm welcoming space within which you can bring everything you want and need to talk about, especially the things you struggle with or that have not felt heard elsewhere.

Practice description

I have over 15 years experience working as a therapist with adults in private practice and also work with children and young people in school settings.

I have an Advanced Diploma in Counselling which has been professionally validated by COSCA (the professional body for counselling and psychotherapy in Scotland).
