About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP accredited and UKCP registered psychotherapist in private practice.
I began my foray in the field of mental health by volunteering as a Samaritan. I trained as a psychotherapist with Regent's University London, a top tier institution in the field of psychotherapy where I obtained my M.A in Psychotherapy & Counselling. I then continued my training in psychotherapy with the Minster Center which is affiliated with Middlesex University. In addition to my private practice, I worked as a counsellor for the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust treating adults suffering from anxiety and depression.
I spent the first fifteen years of my professional career working in high-pressure corporate environments in both Europe and North America. These diverse experiences enabled me to develop a keen sense of observation for the varied manifestations of human behaviour, a sensitivity for its less visible facets and an appreciation for the impact that life's events, both past and present, can have on our sense of self and our relationships with others.
My approach to therapy is integrative, or in other words, multi-disciplinary. This means I adapt or customise my approach with the client in an interactive and relational process.
A lot has changed in the field of psychotherapy in recent decades and research in the neurosciences has led to a convergence in traditionally ‘competing’ psychotherapeutic modalities.
I believe nowadays there is a recognition that, despite wide differences in terminology, there are many overlaps among different approaches which can be assimilated for the benefit of the client.
