About me and my therapy practice

Sometimes you might feel that life is difficult, distressing or challenging, maybe not working out as you had hoped it would, or that you are stuck in a way of living that is causing you stress and unhappiness. Talking to friends, family or colleagues can often help. Maybe you don’t want to burden them, don’t have anyone to talk to, or maybe they’re part of the problem. Sometimes we need someone who is outside of the situation, who will really listen to us and our concerns and work with us to help us sort things out, so that we can feel better.

If you’re struggling with things in your life, past, present or future, or you’re not even sure what the problem is, counselling might be the help and support you need.

I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor. That means that rather than just sticking to just one counselling model (such as Psychodynamic or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) I use different ideas and techniques to suit you. Sessions can be just a single session, few in number, or on a longer-term basis.

I work with individuals, whether adults, children or young people. I also work with couples.

I offer a friendly, secure and confidential space in the counselling room where you can be understood and valued.

I work with clients in person, by telephone and via video call software.

Please get in touch either with me by telephone or e-mail if you are interested in learning more or to arrange an initial appointment.

About me and my therapy practice

Regular clinical supervision is a requirement for registered members of most professional counselling bodies.

How I Work

I am a qualified Integrative Clinical Supervisor and Counsellor. Using an Integrative supervision model enables us to have a thorough exploration during our work together. My model supports us to form a collaborative and congruent relationship, which I believe is vital as we review and explore your clients and work.

I use the 7 Tasks of Supervision (Carroll) as a framework, and integrate 3 supervision models: the 7 Eyed Model (Hawkins & Shohet) , The Cyclical Model (Page & Wosket) and the Functional Model (Proctor).

  • OCN Accredited Certificate in Counselling Supervision

Fees

Counselling and Psychotherapy Supervision is offered on a fortnightly or monthly basis.

Fees are

  • £50 per 1 hour session
  • £70 per 1.5 hour session
  • £90 per 2 hour session

I have limited spaces for concessionary supervision rates for students in training on L4 Diploma Counselling courses, so please do ask if this applies to you.

I also offer Group Supervision, and Supervision for other professionals including school staff. Please get in touch for further information.

Practice description

Clinical supervision is regular scheduled time to review client work, to consider the client/counsellor relationship and to sustain good practice as safely and as ethically as possible. We work together to ensure the client is kept at the heart of the work. It gives safe space to explore and navigate as best as possible any ethical issues that may arise for both client and counsellor. Part of the work may involve considering areas for personal and professional development, as well as to ensure skills and knowledge are kept up to date. Supervision also enables the counsellor to safely consider their own personal resources to sustain their work and their client load.

Supervisees I work with include both Trainee and experienced Counsellors and Psychotherapists who work with a range of both adult and CYP clients. They are self employed working in Private Practice or work for organisations including schools, universities, businesses and mental health agencies/charities.

I also supervise Trainee Counsellors in placement.

CYP Supervision: I have extensive experience of working with children and young people, both in schools and in private practice, and also supervise counsellors who specialise in CYP work.

Online and telephone sessions

I work online with supervisees from all over the UK via various video call software such as Zoom, Skype, Teams etc.

I also offer supervision via telephone.

My first session

I offer an initial free no obligation 30 min session for us to meet and discuss what you are looking for from supervision. This gives us an opportunity to discuss if we feel we are a good fit to work together.

Types of therapy

Behavioural, Brief therapy, CBT, Cognitive, Creative therapy, Eclectic, Existential, Humanistic, Integrative, Person centred, Relational, Solution focused brief therapy, Transactional analysis, Transpersonal

Clients I work with

Adults, Children, Couples, EAP, Groups, Older adults, Organisations, Trainee, Young people
