About me and my therapy practice
Therapy is a safe and confidential space for you to feel listened to and understood. If you wish to focus on a specific issue from the past or the present, would prefer to discuss more general feelings, or if you are in the middle of a crisis, we can work together to discuss and explore your thoughts and feelings. I provide a containing space that is free from prejudice or judgment. The basis for my work is Psychodynamic, which aims to help clients unravel and understand their true, deep-rooted feelings and experiences. Although this is the foundation of my work I believe that each client I see is unique, and I will tailor my approach accordingly. I firmly believe that a secure relationship between client and therapist is the basis for much of the work and is essential for the success of therapy. This is developed through acceptance, lack of any judgement, trust and safety. If, at any time, you feel you would be more comfortable working with a different therapist, you are under no obligation to continue working with me. My wish for you is that you feel safe and secure as you go through the process of therapy. I hold a Masters degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy and I have worked for a number of years with various charities and in private practise.
I offer an initial session at £20 to give you an opportunity to find out how we can work together, and for you to decide if it feels appropriate for you.
