I am now offering both face to face counselling and telephone counselling. I am following the most up to date COVID-19 safety precautions and have carried out a Risk Assessment as per Government Guidelines to ensure everybody's safety.
About me and my therapy practice
Do you suffer with anxiety, depression or low self esteem? Maybe you feel you are stuck and have lost yourself? I have experienced these feelings and thats what lead me to becoming a Counsellor.
Counselling helped me find myself again. It gave me the tools and knowledge to recognise my triggers and to manage them and I wanted to be able to help others in the same way. Sometimes theres a specific reason and we know what is making us feel like that, other times it appears there is no reason at all. Counselling can help unpick whats going on, identify those thoughts and for it to feel less overwhelming in a safe and non judgmental way.
I work with adults and young people (11+) Along side my Private Practice I have also worked as a volunteer for three years working with children, young people and adults and I am a part time college Counsellor in Bucks.
I work with a variety of presenting issues including but not exclusive to: - Family issues, relationships, self-harm, bullying, stress, special needs, anxiety, depression, bereavement, OCD, anger issues, suicidal thoughts, low self-esteem, domestic violence, divorce, school issues, Bi Polar Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder.
I work in an integrative way with Person Centred being at the core and provide short or long term therapy depending on your needs.
My first session
The initial face to face assessment is to allow us the space and time for any questions or concerns you may have. This is also an opportunity to see if you would be happy for us to work together and if you feel counselling is for you.
The purpose of the initial assessment is to gather information and to form a contract between us. It is about us both working together to explore your therapy requirements and how you feel I can help in a safe and confidential environment.
It will include-
Discussing the practicalities of counselling by looking at times, cancellations, fees, confidentiality (and its limits).
It will allow me to gain a better understanding of your presenting problems and difficulties so we can discuss together your goals of counselling and areas to be worked on in future sessions.
Please be prepared to answer a few basic questions around any presenting issues and expectations of counselling as well as any medical history/medication that may be relevant to our work together.
