About me and my therapy practice
I have been working in mental health for the past 20 years and as a therapist for the past 13 years. I have over seven years of experience working in the NHS offering treatments for depression, anxiety disorders and trauma. My therapy approach is integrative, drawing from humanistic, CBT and psychodynamic models. I tailor my therapy to suit each individual’s particular needs and I am able to offer this flexibility due to my integrative approach. I offer individual therapy and therapy for couples. I offer brief therapy interventions (4-12 sessions) and longer term therapy.
I believe that every person has their inner strengths, resources and abilities to find their best way through life’s many challenges. Life however can throw at us challenges and difficulties that can be better navigated through a shared experience in a relationship that is supportive, unbiased, non-judgemental and compassionate. I offer a safe and warm space that will allow you to move forward, grow and gain new valuable insights.
We can explore how you have arrived at a point of particular difficulty, what has shaped your experience, how you see yourself, the world and your relationships, and how you have coped. With this increased awareness, we can then explore what has worked and hasn’t worked for you and find ways forward that would aim to not only alleviate suffering but give you a more fulfilling and enriching life.
My first session
The first session is an initial consultation, which gives us an opportunity to discuss your expectations and what brings you into therapy, to answer any questions you may have about my practice, and to agree on whether and how we proceed with further sessions.
